Pre-conference

The workshop was organised as part of the Aquaculture Forum in Helsinki, Finland. Finland held the Presicency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2011, and sustainable aquaculture was a focus area of the Finnish Presidency Programme. Consistent with this, the Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute and the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry organised a pre-conference on "Competitive and Sustainable Aquaculture in Northern Europe", October 4-5.
